Sieht er nicht „stolz“ aus, dieser kleine Kerl? Der Falter sieht schon etwas mitgenommen aus, da er bereits viele Schuppen verloren hat und die Flügelränder sehr ausgefranst sind. Trotzdem kann er noch gut fliegen und sucht die verschiedenen Blüten auf dieser Ackerbrache auf. Es ist Ende August und das Exemplar des Kleinen Sonnenröschen-Bläulings (Aricia agestis), der hier auf einer Grasnelke (Armeria maritima) sitzt, gehört zur zweiten Jahresgeneration, deren Flugzeit sich jetzt so langsam dem Ende neigt. Dieser Falter ist nicht so häufig in Mitteleuropa, auch wenn er weit verbreitet ist und immer wieder auf warmen und sonnenexponierten Flächen beobachtet wird, so z. B. auf Trockenrasen, sandigen Brachen und an Waldrändern. Seine Raupen fressen am Gelben Sonnenröschen oder auch an Storchschnabelgewächsen. Sie sind es, die überwintern.
